Fifth Sense National Conference Saturday 20th November 2021 – Option to attend by zoom
Bookings to attend in person are now closed. However…
We are extremely excited to be able to enable attendees via zoom to our bi-annual conference. We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible in celebrating 10 years since founder and current Chair Duncan Boak met Prof. Carl Philpott, Director of the Smell and Taste Clinic at James Paget Hospital, and established the charity.
Attending the 2021 Fifth Sense national conference by zoom will give you the opportunity to choose the sessions to join and to stay for as long as you want or for as little time as you can.
The conference will be sharing information about the charity’s plans for 2022 and beyond from our board of trustees and partner organisations. It will include a focus on the future of treatment and research into smell and taste disorders with talks from Prof. Philpott and Dr. Steven Munger, Director of the University of Florida Center for Smell and Taste. There will be the opportunity to ask questions, share your experiences and be in the company of kindred spirits who share the same challenges as you.
Covid-19 has increased awareness of smell and taste disorders in a way that no-one could have foreseen, but it has also highlighted the challenges that people affected by smell and taste disorders face; lack of understanding, treatment options and research. The media spotlight that the pandemic has created gives us hope for the future.
To help us to cover the additional expenditure needed to bring this event to zoom, we would welcome a donation of whatever amount you are able to make. In line with our pay what you can afford scheme that we run to enable everyone to be able to join us, there is no obligation to make a donation.
Venue: Hotel Brooklyn Manchester
