Global Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP) Awareness Day
Fifth Sense is pleased to be partnering with the European Forum for Research and Education in Allergy and Airway Diseases (EUFOREA) to support the first ever global awareness day for Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP) on 20th April.
Chronic Rhinosinusitis is one of the major causes of smell loss and creates other problems for those affected, including difficulty breathing and sleeping. We know from the stories of our members, though, that people can face challenges in getting the right diagnosis and treatment, which is why we fully support the aims of this campaign:
- Raise awareness of CRSwNP and comorbidities (asthma, atopic dermatitis, and its impact on quality of life among physicians and policymakers)
- Encourage healthcare professionals at all levels to learn more about how they can improve outcomes for patients living with CRSwNP through improved diagnosis, treatment, and referrals to specialist care
- Educate patients on the symptoms of CRSwNP so that they can seek appropriate care in the management of their disease or to support loved ones suffering from CRSwNP and associated comorbidities including Asthma, Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema, and Allergy – respiratory or food allergy).
Fifth Sense member Alison’s story highlights both the challenges faced by those with CRS and the positive impact that successful treatment can have. Read it here.
We have an information sheet which includes tips for managing the condition. Download it here
