Hors d’oeuvres, anyone…?
My temptation is to reach for the salty snacks – I do love a peanut or a cheese straw. But if you really want to impress your tastebuds (and your guests) have ago at creating a plateful of blinis – they’re super quick to prepare and will go down a treat. Simply arrange the mini pancakes on a plate or dish, add a teaspoon of soured cream, and pop some shreds of smoked salmon on top, with some lemon juice and a sprinkling of black pepper. If you want to go even fancier, add some sprigs of freshly chopped dill. And for extra tang, finely chop a shallot and add it to the salmon.
