Mashed Potato And Peas is hard to resist especially with a blob of melted butter! I make my mashed potato the same way I make my pasta.
INGREDIENTS
- 6 potatoes
- 200 grams frozen peas
- 4 tbsps. butter
- salt and pepper to taste
- reserve the potato water if using or use ½ cup warm milk
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Start by washing/rinsing the potatoes, peeling and cut into large chunks.
Top the cleaned potatoes up with water, lid on and bring to the boil. Add salt to the water.
-
Once boiling drop to a simmer and let them cook till tender.
Check with a fork to see when they tender by piercing into the potato. If it goes in easily they done.
-
Add the frozen peas, and let them cook for another minute. Turn the heat off. Drain and keep some potato water!
-
Add butter, salt potato and a dash of the potato water and use a masher to mash while they are still hot and steamy.
Please don’t over add the water they will become too soft and not creamy.
-
Put the lid back on and let them sit in the pot, mashed and steaming till ready to serve.
Don’t forget to add a blob of butter in the pot before you put the lid on it melts into creamy luxury potatoes.
Taste for seasoning when you serve and add an extra butter, fresh parsley or chives.
