Fifth Sense would like to introduce those in Merseyside with smell and taste disorders to the super Rhinology Team at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool.

The rhinology service is currently provided by four ENT consultants; Mr. Andrew Swift, Mr. Omar Ayoub, Mr. Christopher Webb

and Mr. Samuel Leong. They see patients at Aintree University Hospital and at the Broadgreen site of the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital. The two hospitals are currently in the process of merging into a single Trust this autumn. Although rhinology clinics will still be held at both hospital sites, patients requiring surgery will be consolidated to the Aintree campus.

The rhinology clinics are building on an excellent history evidenced by the starting of smell testing (at the now decommissioned Walton Hospital) way back in the early 90’s.

The team provide services that collectively are thought to be unique in the north west of the country. They undertake a variety of diagnostic assessments including smell testing, allergy testing, endoscopy and measurements of nasal airflow. Smell training is also available via the smell clinic.
