I am Professor and Vice-Chair of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Director of the Center for Smell and Taste and Co-Director of the UF Health Smell Disorders Program at the University of Florida, USA, and have been studying the chemical senses for over three decades.
My current research is focused on understanding the molecular and neural mechanisms that allow humans and other animals to smells, tastes and ingested nutrients, as well as determining the mechanisms underlying post-viral olfactory dysfunctions.
I previously served as t of the Association for Chemoreception Sciences (AChemS) and am currently Editor-in-Chief of the journal Chemical Senses. I am delighted to be a Fifth Sense Advisory Board member and look forward to a continuing collaboration focused on improving the lives and health of those affected by smell and taste disorders.
